MPP hosted its fourth annual party at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles on June 4, 2009. The most exciting and successful to date, with close to 700 supporters coming out to celebrate our 2008 Election Day wins! The party was hosted by actress Fairuza Balk and headlined by the alternative rock giants The Dandy Warhols and featured two live fire performances by Red Swan Entertainment, a roaming magic performance by magician Kevin Viner, a surprise musical performance by The Kyle Gass Project (featuring Kyle Gass of Tenacous D), and DJ action by HunnyPot with a special guest set by David J. of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets.
MPP presented California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano with the Legislative Leadership Award and marijuana reform advocate Todd McCormick with the Lifetime Dedication to Marijuana Policy Reform Award.
