Special Hardship Planning & Land Use Committee Meeting
Dear Union Members, Dispensaries, Collectives, Patient Organizations, and Medical Marijuana Supporters,
Due to the recent hardship and ICO activity with the LA City Council, there is an ever present need for supporters of the Union of Medical Marijuana Patients and other concerned medical marijuana parties to come forth and speak. This includes collectives, patients, and advocates all getting up in front of the council and making their voices heard.
You can visit the LA City Council website at www.lacity.org to view all the City Council meetings and agendas. For the hardship cases, the city puts them under the PLUM Committee (Planning and Land Use Management) or you can look at the agendas and hear older committee meetings at
http://lacity.org/lacity/SubMenu/CityMeetingsAgendas/ index.htm
It’s also very important for your organization to keep up to date on the activity at City Hall since many decisions that come out of the City Council can directly affect you and your business.
This coming Monday June 29th, 2009 at 8:30am, there will be a special Planning and Land Use Committee (PLUM) meeting at Los Angeles City Hall to determine the fate of 29+ medical marijuana collectives/ associations/patient organizations and their hardship applications.
If you are in the medical marijuana community in any way, shape or form (patient, collective owner/operator, advocate, etc), you should come to Los Angeles City Hall on Monday, June 29th and let your voice be heard on behalf of yourself and the medical marijuana community.
We strongly encourage you to have your patients come to City Hall and speak as well. The more people that show up and speak, the more unified this community will look.
If you have doctors or psychiatrists that you utilize or that are sympathetic to the medical marijuana community, they should be encouraged to come as well.
We need to show the LA City Council that the medical marijuana community is unified in our mission of helping out patients who require the medicine for their ailments.
There will be Union of Medical Marijuana Patient personnel present to help out with any questions or concerns. Please contact us with any questions at 213-626-2730.
