Depends who you ask! Discover how to personalize each trip – according to what HE says and what SHE says – to get the most out of your Sin City experience.
Ultimate Boys’ Weekend
Every good plan starts with a home base – a spot that is as equally functional for recuperation and reconnection as it is for celebration itself. MGM Grand’s newly remodeled rooms set the stage for a killer weekend. Adorned in earth tones and outfitted with the latest technology, the rooms are stylish without being too frilly, and of course, MGM Grand is located right in the middle of The Strip’s hottest intersection, providing easy access to all that Vegas has to offer.
Get things started across the street at New York- New York’s Sporting House Bar & Grill. With a huge menu featuring burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches and more, a full bar offering sports-themed specialty drinks, such as the Hail Mary and the Double Header, and all the day’s biggest games on 130 high-definition screens, The Sporting House is a sports lover’s dream. But don’t fill up too much, because before you leave New York-New York, you’re going to want to take a spin on The Roller Coaster, which twists and turns around the resort at speeds up to 67 mph, with an awesome 144-foot drop.
After, head toward the center of The Strip to get ready and sync up your crew with new time pieces at one of the fine watch shops located at Bellagio, including Breguet, Omega and Tesorini. Then, it’s time for some serious carnivorous eating at BRAND Steakhouse at Monte Carlo. With its central location and open design, BRAND ensures you’ll be part of the action as you enjoy finely crafted cocktails and droolinducing dishes from a menu that includes the 120- ounce Ultimate Steak for Six. Fully satiated, you’ll work it off with nonstop laughter inside The Mirage’s Terry Fator Theatre, where Daniel Tosh regularly brings his energetic stand-up act to the Aces of Comedy series.
You won’t have to go far to find the perfect ending for your night, just steps from the theatre, at The Beatles REVOLUTION Lounge. Inspired by The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil, REVOLUTION is a psychedelic feast for your senses, featuring interactive technology, pulsating sounds and unique cocktails. And it’s intimate enough for you and the guys to make plenty of new friends. Groovy, baby.
On Saturday morning, once your crew shakes off its collective fatigue from the night before, head to Luxor for the Mariachi Brunch at T&T (Tacos & Tequila). This rock ’n’ roll-style cantina comes alive with 2-for-1 margaritas, live mariachis and hearty, Mexican-inspired breakfast foods. Hangovers cured, you’ll be refreshed and ready to take in a little daylife – specifically, the kind you’ll find at MGM Grand’s WET REPUBLIC. This unparalleled pool club features 53,000 square feet of music, entertainment and action, two saltwater pools, a 2,500-square-foot ultra lounge, and of course, a full bar. Get a private bungalow for your boys to maximize your VIP experience.
All that dancing, wading and gazing will surely work up an appetite, so head to Circus Circus to experience vintage Vegas at Zagat’s 2011 Top Steak House in Las Vegas, THE Steak House, which offers mesquite-grilled steaks, poultry and seafood in a classic, casual environment. Head back to Monte Carlo to cool off inside the sub-freezing environ of Minus5 Ice Bar, in which everything – the walls, the bar, the seats – is made from pure Canadian ice. After finishing off Minus5’s famous vodka cocktails, warm up quickly at Luxor’s FANTASY, one of the longestrunning – and sexiest – topless shows on The Strip. A potent combination of singing, dancing and amazing sets – not to mention, some of the most beautiful women you’ll ever see – ensures FANTASY truly lives up to its name.
With the guys all charged up, take them down to one of the hottest spots on The Strip, HAZE Nightclub at ARIA. This 25,000-square-foot nightlife mecca takes clubbing to a whole new level of sensory engagement, featuring the latest state-ofthe- art sound and lighting systems, the world’s top Djs and multiple levels for dancing, drinking and experiencing life to its fullest…all night long.
After a wild night on the town, surely you and your group will have a mighty hunger when you wake on Sunday – one that can only be satisfied at Burger Bar at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place. Created by celebrated chef Hubert Keller, Burger Bar’s namesake sandwiches go beyond the norm, offering the finest selection of customizable beef, turkey, buffalo and vegetarian burgers, along with microbrews, shakes and salads.
Next, grab the guys and head over to MGM Grand’s Race & Sports Book for some good oldfashioned betting on a new, high-def level. Grab a seat in front of eight 42-inch plasma televisions, three big screens and 36 60-inch plasma televisions, then step up and place your bet at one of the 17 betting windows. Even better, rent one of the second-level Skyboxes offering a great view of the action, sofa seating and a large screen TV along with food and beverage butler service. The boxes are equipped with the latest technology such as surround-sound audio and a video game console if your group would rather take control of a game. Consider it an indoor cabana for sports enthusiasts.
Finish off the weekend at Social House at Crystals at CityCenter. Featuring a sushi experience like no other, Social House’s combination of innovative Pan-Asian cuisine, intimate atmosphere and infectious energy will provide the perfect setting to recap the great weekend before jetsetting home.
Ideal Girls’ Getaway
Let’s face it, sometimes a girl just needs to blow off a little steam. What better way to let loose than with a weekend in Vegas with your girlfriends? No guys allowed! Vegas was designed for having a good time! First things first: when it comes to planning a trip, where you stay can be just as important as what you do. Vegas has redefined luxury, and no place highlights that more than the newly redesigned guest rooms at Bellagio. With a new $70 million renovation recently completed, including 40-inch mounted flat-screen televisions and cashmere-covered mattresses, you can’t go wrong.
Before hitting the town, head to Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina at Crystals at CityCenter for some delicious rustic Italian food. Splurge and order the handmade pasta, then walk off the calories with a little retail therapy by browsing through the highend boutiques at Crystals. Then, it’s on to Bellagio to catch one of the most breathtaking Cirque du Soleil shows to ever hit The Strip, “O.” Afterward, make your way over to Bar Moderno at ARIA to sip on some masterfully crafted signature cocktails. The piano lounge, designed by Jacques Garcia Decoration, also features live music.
Time to refuel. Hail a cab over to The Mirage for a succulent American meal at STACK. Order off the small bites menu or spring for a decadent dessert, before relocating to the 10,000-square-foot, Philippe Starck-designed Hyde Bellagio, a celebrity hot spot. Featuring a seamless indoor/outdoor space overlooking The Fountains of Bellagio, lavish chandeliers and an unprecedented rotation of Djs, Hyde is a nightclub of unrivaled style and sophistication.
After a good night’s sleep, ease into your day at Mandalay Bay Beach’s Villas Soleil. Swim in the villa pool that overlooks the 11-acre Beach complex or work on your tan from your own private deck. Then grab a bite at the Beach Bar and Grill, before heading over to Bellagio’s Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA), to view the new Claude Monet: Impressions of Light exhibition. Twenty works by Monet, the founder of French Impressionist painting, along with eight additional canvases by his predecessors and contemporaries, are on display. The featured works illustrate the height of Monet’s engagement with color and light.
Shake things up with cocktails at Mandarin Bar, located on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas. Enjoy the view of the Vegas skyline while sipping a Blood Orange Fizz – an elegant champagne cocktail laced with blood orange liqueur, lemon juice and topped with sparkling wine. With the sun setting, hightail it over to Eva Longoria’s Beso Steakhouse at Crystals at CityCenter, to sample the signature tortilla soup – a favorite and specialty of the sultry star. Finally, shimmy down to The Mirage to hit the dance floor at the resort’s new nightclub 1 OAK. With a sexy, unpredictable environment and state-of-the-art lighting and sound system, now is as good a time as any to strike up a conversation with that group of hot guys across the way.
With two exciting days and nights under your belt, the third calls for a little rest and relaxation. Start with some well-deserved pampering at the award-winning Spa & Salon Bellagio. Indulge in a group pedicure with your girlfriends by booking a mani/pedi in The Pedicure Room, followed by an ultra-relaxing Watsu massage. After a blissful morning, cruise over to Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay for some guilt-free, low-calorie desserts at Verandah, promptly followed by a sexy workout at Excalibur’s Night School 4 Girls. You’ll learn pole dancing techniques, burlesque dance moves and sexy tips on seduction from the pros.
For one last meal with the girls, head to L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand. Featuring exquisite French cuisine and unique bar-style dining which allows guests to observe the creation of their meals. L’Atelier is a Michelin one-star and AAA Four Diamond restaurant. To finish up the decadent day, follow up dinner with Excalibur’s all-male dance revue, Thunder From Down Under (voted Best Male Strip Show by the Las Vegas Review-Journal readers).
