Th e McKinney, Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department (PROS) provides classes, programs, events, parks and facilities that enhance the quality of life of our community. McKinney celebrated the grand opening of its tennis complex in February. Th e Courts at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park off ers year-round tennis leagues and lessons, where you can learn to play, practice and improve your tennis game. Stop by for a tour or to talk with Matt Hanlin, the facility General Manager. Visit www.mckinneytennis.com for more information. May is Get Fit Month in McKinney. Mark your calendar for the Get Fit McKinney event on May 4. Th e event hosted by McKinney ISD and will be held at Ron Poe Stadium from 6 -8 p.m. It’s free and open to the community. Families are welcome to take part in fun, wellness-oriented activities like an obstacle course, rock-climbing wall, bounce houses, the Kiwanis Family Fun Walk and games. Don’t forget to register for our summer camps. We off er a wide range of camps to keep your kids entertained and active this summer. See page 30-31 for a full list of summer camps.
